According to informed sources the United National Party has put three options on the table for the party's Prime Ministerial candidature during the upcoming Parliamentary election.The three names up for debate include "ousted" Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa and Prof. Maithree Wickremasinghe (wife of Ranil Wickramsinghe)
However party sources state that Prof. Wickremasinghe is "highly unlikely" accept the offer
Meanwhile the UNP has already decided that the party will contest under a common front, with a new symbol acceptable to all stakeholders.
