Case against ‘Wele Suda’ fixed for hearing

The Colombo High Court today (31) ordered to take up the case against the drug kingpin Samantha Kumara alias ‘Wele Suda’, his wife and cousin sister on December 13.

The Colombo High Court Judge Wikum Kaluarachchi also ordered the witnesses of the case to appear before the court at the next hearing.

The case against ‘Wele Suda’, his wife Gayani Priyadarshani and cousin sister by the name Wasanthi Wasundara was filed by the Attorney General under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for the alleged illegal acquiring of land and property in Kotte, Dehiwala and Rajagiriya areas, valued at Rs 170 million, through heroin racketeering.

‘Wele Suda’ had received the death penalty in another drug-related case that was filed against him.
